Why does the app need location access?
Going Now uses your location to record your walking route, place messages on the map, and show you nearby content. Location is only active during a trip or when the app is open.
How do I start a trip?
Tap the Start button on the map screen. The app will begin recording your route and show you nearby messages and animals.
How do I drop a message?
During a trip, tap the + button to open the message composer. Add text or a photo and confirm — your message is pinned to your current location.
How do territories work?
Walk the boundary of any area to claim it. When you complete the loop, the polygon is submitted as your territory. Other users can contest it by walking over it.
How do animals work?
Animals appear as pins during a trip. Walk within 100 m to see them and within 10 m to interact. Feeding an animal earns you a collector's card.
Can I delete a message I dropped?
Open the message from the map (tap your own pin) and choose Delete from the options menu.
The app crashed or something isn't working — what should I do?
Force-close the app and reopen it. If the problem persists, contact us at the address below and describe what happened.
Is my location data stored or shared?
Your route is stored to display your trip history and calculate stats. It is not shared with third parties.
Send us an email and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
